2 Piece talks to us about DJs, the industry, his new mixtape and more!

Wildfire Promotions:  How are you feeling right now 2 Piece?
2 Piece:  Feeling pretty good.  My debut mixtape is doing well, gaining new fans every other day at a rapid pace. Grateful.

Wildfire Promotions:  What part of the U.S. are you representing?
2 Piece:  The Great State of Texas.

Wildfire Promotions:  You have a hot mixtape out right now Effortless Win, could you tell the readers more about it, for the ones that haven't heard it yet?
2 Piece:  Well the mixtape is Classic in my book and I'm not just saying that.  Its a variety of music but its all me as far as who I am as an individual. Its something on there for anybody on Earth I can guarantee it.

Wildfire Promotions:  Who did you work with for this mixtape?
2 Piece: DJ Scrill, DJ King Assassin. DJ Hitman, and DJ Infamous VA nothing like having this team of DJs behind the movement.  As far as producers Chemist, Young Goku, Sinima Beats, and Cardo.

Wildfire Promotions:  Lets talk about DJs for a sec, what DJs do you respect in the game right now?
2 Piece:  I respect DJs that are breaking records and supporting the up and coming artist in the game.

Wildfire Promotions:  Do you feel that DJs these days do a good job with breaking records or what is your opinion on DJs as a whole today?
2 Piece:  DJ's as a whole need to trust their own ears I feel.  This is why I say that...Majority of the time while I'm out all dj's are playing the same records in the club.  A DJ can really like a record but won't spin it all because its a new artist n****s ain't on yet. Put em on and get the credit it can be beneficial for all.

Wildfire Promotions:  Other than DJs, in your opinion what would you say is a great avenue to get your music out there to the people?
2 Piece:  Its pretty safe to say that the internet is the most powerful marketing/promoting tool right now. Also throw your own shows and open for bigger artist. Open mics get the job done too.

Wildfire Promotions:  How would you describe a live show by 2 Piece?
2 Piece:  Energetic,  especially interacting with the crowd.

Wildfire Promotions:  What is one of the worst experiences you've had in the industry so far and how did you learn from it?
2 Piece:  Promotion schemes, people selling services they can't complete. As an up and coming artist you gotta analyze every move because so many artists get preyed on by these sharks out here. I have a team now that prevents those type of things from happening.

Wildfire Promotions:  Where do you see yourself as an artist in the next 5 years?
2 Piece:  Arguing with Rihanna in a lambo.

DJ Modesty talks about Making Beats, Mixtapes, D.I.V., and the truth about the Hip Hop scene in his part of France and more all in this Interview

Wildfire Promotions:  What has DJ Modesty been up to in 2012?
DJ Modesty:  I dropped with my Crew alterprod the 2nd chapter of Kings From Queens in march-April, It's A double Album with some of the Best mc's from the Queens Borough on exclusive beats from Worldwide Producers.  KINGS FROM QUEENS 2 & 2.1 is a real accomplishment, the Result of some Month, years to work with mc's, Producers... I think that's my Best Album.  In July my Crew Alterprod dropped his First album, exclusively produced by Alterbeats.  It's an Album Distributed worldwide on Digital & Cd... i did some Cuts on many tracks of this Album.  It's the 1st Alterprod Album and it's more than Music, it's a Real concept of Artworks, Video & Music.

I Continued to record some Radio Shows "THE REAL HIP HOP SHOW" and to feature on many tracks for cuts :

SKEEZO & BEATMINERZ, ALTERBEATS & MIC HANDZ, SHABAAM SAHDEEQ & Many More + Some Mixtapes for French & US Mc's as KAOT'F, BRAINKAVE, WILLIE STUBZ...

Wildfire Promotions:  How has things been going as for hip hop over in France?
DJ Modesty:  I'm Not very connected to the French Hip Hop scene cause i overall play & work with US artists. Also, I don't live in the best Place for Hip Hop and there is a big difference of mentality between the People like me who come from the Golden Era and the Young Generation.  Hip Hop & artists change every year like the US fashion... I think that the HIP HOP FASHION is the best word to describe the situation.  Sometimes it's HIP HOP Bling Bling, Sometimes HIP HOP Electro... and sometimes it's HIP HOP Vintage.  A Lot of different energies but it's hard for me to find something that i could like for the quality of beats, Flows or Lyrics.... As people say, it's important to Keep It alive, but I think that it's also important for the Older emcees with experience to continue to do music for people like me (Lol), but also for the young people....
Big Up to All the Veterans and all the people who continue to do Underground & Real Hip Hop !!!

Wildfire Promotions:  Rising Yonkers New York based emcee D.I.V. has been making a lot of noise in the streets, and he recently hosted one of your latest mix show episodes on The Real Hip Hop Show, how do you feel about his music?
DJ Modesty:  I heard about D.I.V through Jay of The Giant Blast when he asked me to listen to his music for some Radio Airplay, I checked One joint and I heard a good energy, It's very important for me to like the voice, the flow of a mc, as a Dj, with the beat, it's the first thing I listen. D.I.V is not very known in the Industry but I think that he have the qualities to progress in this game.  He got eclectic songs and an hardcore flow.  I'll like him to continue in this street, Boom Bap soundz, & i wish to hear him on Big collabos with Real Hip Hop Names, Producers.... I think that's the next step.  I wish him Good luck cause we all know that there is a lot of talents in this world and that's the life is overall opportunities and Chance... but also Work, Work, Work...

Wildfire Promotions:  What other artists are you feeling right now?
DJ Modesty:  So many... The N°1 I support for many years is NUTSO from Flushing Queens, cause he do real Hip Hop, street but he can do Mainstream Boom Bap and with his label, he got everything to success.  I continue to support Shabaam Sahdeeq cause he's one of the best mc's from the Globe.  People'll have to look his past, present & future to know his Level... I like also his homies that i heard first with Alterbeats : Mic Handz, Skeezo...
It's very hard for me to talk about all these talents, but people as Wildelux, D Strong, Comet, Neek The Exotic, Satchel Page, Ice Water, Blacastan, Ruste Juxx, Red Eye, A.G., M.O.P., Tragedy Khadafi, IM3, Blaq Poet, Mr Bars, M Dot & EMS....
Sorry if i can give you all the names, but if i played you on The Real Hip Hop Show, Kings From Queens, You be part of these ones!!!  As far as producers, Alterbeats, Dj Low Cut, Dj Brans, Kyo Itachi, Dj JS1, Crazeology, Snowgoons, B Dvine...

Wildfire Promotions:  What would you say is one of the hottest records of 2012 been so far?
DJ Modesty:  Wowww, it's difficult, i give you a few record, albums that i like :

LA COKA NOSTRA - Mind Your Business (Prod by DJ PREMIER)
DJ PREMIER & BUMPY KNUCKLES - Kolexxxion
DJ LOW CUT - NY FOR MINUTE
DJ BRANS - BRANSTORM
ALTERPROD/ALTERBEATS - THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
KOOL G RAP & NECRO - THE GODFATHERS

THE NEW SNOWGOONS'll be amazing for sure
& Nas, Prodigy, Skyzoo, Neek The Exotic, Torae, Saigon... coming really strong in 2012.

Wildfire Promotions:  You also make beats, how would you describe your sound as a beatmaker?
DJ Modesty:  To Produce was a logic for me because I always had the dream to play my own track as Dj Premier did with Gang Starr & other Mc's...The Reality is different than the wishes because I realized that it's not an easy thing to produce a beat.  I Do it Oldschool with a MPC 2000 XL and I need more years to practice before to have a real style.  I try to do the sounds with samples & Boom Bap, Basic drum Loops.  My beats are very different because the samples comes from different styles of music.  I just hope that people will like the beats and that my beats'll be different than other producers, I dont try to copy, many people want to be the next Primo and use the same skills.  I just do music, it changes everyday with the sample, the feeling, from The Drama, Dark, to the cool & Soul Vibe... I hope that I could progress in this way to build more collabos that people'll appreciate to hear.

Wildfire Promotions: Who have you produced for so far?
DJ Modesty:  Not a lot. My beginning on the Collabos is for King From Queens in 2012. I did my 1st Beat for Camiliano that i remixed on this project, One for Reap, Semi Auto & Koron, A track called Bang on em' with Nutso, YB, Logic & Koron, Tracks for Challace & Ruc Da jackel, Doc Holiday (Darcsyde), Team Thoro, Satchel Page, J Love, Ray Mora, Ice Water, Verbal Harassment.... More'll Coming soon

Wildfire Promotions: What plans does DJ Modesty have for the rest of 2012?
DJ Modesty:  I want to continue THE REAL HIP HOP SHOW and to have many Guest to host the shows. Especially some REAL HIP HOP SHOW Eclusives Mixtapes as Best Of dedicated to some Mc's I support since many years. I want to do a Special for S DUB (Shabaam Sahddeq), One that i have in works since 2 years with Smiley The Ghetto Child, A Second Best Of for NUTSO.... I think a lot of collabos on cuts with my Crew Alterprod on Alterbeats tracks and for different mc's....   Maybe to start to work on a Album concept as KINGS FROM QUEENS but with something different...
I hope overall that i could have opportunities & Request to do Shows, Tours, Because i like to perform live on stage....

Wildfire Promotions:  Is there anything else you would like to plug?  Any shout outs or links?
DJ Modesty:  Big Thanks to Wildfire, J-Coleman, Big thanks for all the people who support my work since 2003, My Family, The Facebook friends, Fans, The Mc's, Producers, Dj's, Blogs... i'm here to support the Hip Hop People so when people like my work, i know that it give exposure to the artists in the same way , it's some dope moments & emotions for all of us to have your feedbacks... Thanks for your support !!!
BIG Up to My Crew ALTERPROD, i'm on a next level with them because they helped me a lot. thanks to Max, Ben, Tim & Manuel for they Professional Work and to be some real & Cool Dudes. BIG UP ALTER FAMILY !!!!

Savion Saddam (frequent Young Buck collaborator) puts young unknown artist in his place on Facebook!

Savion Saddam recently made a post on the wall of his facebook page about independent artists in North Carolina need to wake up if they think that talent is the only thing that will get them somewhere in todays music industry, and while most of the followers that made comments agreed with the knowledge that Savion tried to share, one up and coming unsigned artists used this opportunity to try and make a name for himself online by sparking a debate with the rapper.  See what was said in the exchange below.
I WONDER Y THESE ARTIST IN NC THINK IT'S ABOUT TALENT. IT'S ABOUT MONEY AND RELATIONSHIPS. U GOT TO HAVE BOTH
